This past weekend, David Starr put his career on the line to win the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship; however, the 29-year-old ultimately fell short of his goal.

This would end his four-year tenure with Westside Xtreme Wrestling and despite his short stint with the company, Starr managed to make a huge impact in wXw. The Philadelphia native is a former three-time Shotgun Champion and a one-time wXw World Tag Team Champion.

Starr had memorable bouts against talents such as WALTER, Tyler Bate, and Marty “The Villain” Scurll, and the former wXw star will surely be missed within the promotion. Starr commented on his final match in wXw:

Starr has been against the way WWE treats it talent and the lack of healthcare. The former wXw Shotgun champion has been highly outspoken about the issues and refuses to work with PROGRESS and EVOLVE because of the situation.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling also has a working relationship with WWE, and according to Dave Meltzer, the company reportedly pressured the promotion to cut ties with Starr. Neither Starr or wXw have yet to comment on the reported rumor.
