Max The Impaler is done with the NWA.
One of the more featured acts of the past several years is gone from the National Wrestling Alliance as Max The Impaler has confirmed their departure from the promotion.
“I am no longer with NWA. I am thankful for my time there and everyone that supported me. For now that is all I have to say.”
Max the Impaler has been with the NWA since 2022. Max’s first opponent was against Ella Envy, but it was the match against former NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille the really opened up eyes to the performer. Soon after, Max continued to climb the ranks of the NWA.
Max The Impaler eventually beat Kenzie Paige for the NWA Women’s World Television Championship at NWA 75 and successfully defended that title against top names such as Rithie Jay, MJ Jenkins, and Missa Kate for 280 days until the company merged the men’s and women’s titles in February 2024. Max beat Mims to unify the belts on NWA Power.
Max would continue to dominate the mid card scene and beats the crap out guys like Jake Dumas, Mr. Grim, before dropping the belt to Carson Bartholomew Drake. The former NWA star would go on to feud with James Mitchell, but Max’s 2025 saw a turn where they were on the losing end of all of their NWA appearances. Mims got his win back over Max. And Nihan beat Max The Impaler in a street fight at NWA 77.
Based on the tweet, it doesn't look like the exit was smooth, though that’s just pure speculation right now. Max still wrestles for Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling. Max’s NWA release does open the possibility of the former NWA World Television Champion to sign with WWE or AEW.
Max has worked with AEW in the past, though under the ROH brand in 2021. Max the Impaler actually made it into the Quarter finals of the ROH Women’s World title tournament, but they lost the match via disqualification to Angelina Love. There hasn’t been any rumors that WWE or AEW are interested in Max, though that certainly doesn’t mean that they aren’t. Should more news come to light about Max the Impaler’s exit from the NWA then we’ll keep you posted.
