Several big matches have been confirmed for NWA’s 77th Anniversary show.
The main event of the upcoming pay-per-view has been decided. Thom Latimer officially has a challenger for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight title as Thrillbilly Silas Mason is confirmed as Latimer’s 32nd opponent. Latimer has held onto the world title for 309 days, beating names such as EC3, Aron Stevens, Bishop Dyer (WWE’s Baron Corbin), Stu Grayson, and Matt Cardona. Latimer has been a workhorse for the NWA and that isn’t changing anytime soon.
Mason is a newcomer to the NWA, though he has over a decade of in-ring experience. This isn’t the first time that Latimer and Mason have fought one another, as these two battled in April 2024 and that match ended in a disqualification on the behalf of Latimer. Now, Latimer and Mason will settle the score once and for all in Huntington, NY on August 16.
But that wasn’t the only title match confirmed.
EC3 is vying to become the next NWA World Tag Team Champions with Pretty Boy Smooth as the duo will challenge Mike Knox and Trevor Murdoch for the prestigious belts. Knox and Murdoch have held those titles for 432 days; the NWA tag team has beaten everyone from The Slimeballz, The Premier, The Fixers, and The Southern Six. This will be their twelfth title defense.
For the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, former Impact World Champion Rich Swann gets to face Alex Taylor. Taylor is another long NWA Champion as he’s successfully retained his title for 400 plus days. However, Swann is his biggest opponent thus far as he’s not just a former Impact World Champion, but the Baltimore native has won belts in WWE, CZW, and Revolver.
NWA stacked this show up and there’s six title matches advertised for the upcoming pay-per-view. Check out the updated card:
