Nick Aldis will defend the NWA World Heavyweight title against a former WWE Superstar.

The National Wrestling Alliance released a video that showcases former ROH and WWE star Mike Bennett issuing out a challenge to the NWA World Heavyweight Champion for September 15 at the UWN pay-per-view event and the promotion later confirmed the big title match.

Earlier this month, NWA announced a partnership with the United Wrestling Network and the two companies will produce a weekly series of pay-per-views starting on September 15. Thunder Rosa will also defend the NWA Women’s Championship on the show, though her opponent has yet to be determined.

This will be the first match that Mike Bennett wrestles since his release from WWE back in April. Both him and Maria have teased a return to both New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor; however, the former 24/7 Champion isn't currently signed to any promotion at the moment.
