As previously reported, NWA has suspended production on both the Crockett Cup and NWA Powerrr due to the coronavirus.
Yesterday, instead of their weekly television event, the promotion released their NWA 70th Anniversary pay-per-view, which saw Nick Aldis start his history making title reign by defeating then champion Cody Rhodes in a two out of three falls match.
The company released a statement on why they decided to give away the pay-per-view for free, citing that they wanted the newer fans to experience where the new era of National Wrestling Alliance began.
In addition to the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship match, Jazz defended the NWA World Women’s Championship against Penelope Ford, and a wild four-way bout between Willie Mack, Jay Bradley, Mike Parrow, and Ricky Starks took place for the vacant National Heavyweight Championship.
