It appears “The Cowboy” is a free agent.
According to Fightful.com, NWA World Tag Team Champion James Storm is a free agent. In fact, Storm’s contract with the National Wrestling Alliance actually expired on February 1st. As of this writing, there’s no word on whether officials are looking to re-sign the veteran.
Before NWA was forced to shut down due to the pandemic, Storm and Eli Drake were the NWA World Tag Team Champions. The duo won the belts back at the Hard Times pay-per-view, overcoming the odds against The Rock 'n' Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) and The Wild Cards (Royce Isaacs & Thomas Latimer).
Storm has been with the NWA for nearly two years and also won the NWA National Title during his stint with the company. The 43-year-old challenged Nick Aldis for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at the Pop-Up pay-per-view in May 2019, but Storm came out on the losing end.
It’s possible that Storm could make his way over to NXT, Impact Wrestling, or All Elite Wrestling, though there’s been no confirmation on what the future holds for the veteran.
