The Pope is the new NWA TV Champion!
Last night, the former WWE superstar fought Zicky Dice in the main event following his successful tag team debut several weeks ago against the now former NWA TV Champion and Effy. For the first time in his career, The Pope is holding NWA gold.
The title change effectively ends Dice’s title reign at 268 days. Believe it or not, this was actually Dice’s first title defense as the NWA star never got a chance to defend the belt after beating Ricky Starks in January due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Pope becoming the new NWA TV Champion wasn’t the only big news to come out of the latest Primetime Live event as the participants for the upcoming eight-man tournament to crown the first UWN World Champion have been confirmed.
Erick Redbeard (former WWE star Erick Rowan), Karl Fredericks, Fred Rosser, Davey Boy Smith Jr, Mike Bennett, Watts, Chris Dickinson, and Peter Avalon are the advertised names for the competition.
