Former WWE Superstar Carlito made a surprise appearance at Backlash last month when he gave the Latino World Order an assist during their battle with the Judgement Day.
He received a huge pop from the crowd and the clips of Caribbean Cool's WWE return generated millions of views across social media and YouTube. That reportedly exceeded the company's expectations, hence why there's since been talk of bringing him back into the fold.
After Carlito cancelled an upcoming appearance at an independent show in Canada, it was reported that he'd told the event's organisers he had signed with WWE.
This weekend, he took part in a House of Glory event and cut a promo after the match which has only served to further fuel speculation about his in-ring future.
"The rumors are true," Carlito teased while addressing a cheering crowd. However, he'd immediately add, "And that is that I taught El Hijo del Vikingo all of his moves." He's clearly having fun with the rumours and, for now, nothing is confirmed either way.
However, this certainly bodes well for a possible WWE return and there's a lot the veteran could bring to the table.
During his first WWE run, Carlito became a one-time United States Champion and one-time Intercontinental Champion, and was part of both the RAW and SmackDown brands.
He is the only wrestler to win a championship on two separate debuts in WWE and the second Puerto Rican wrestler (after Pedro Morales) to hold the Intercontinental Championship. At WrestleMania 25, Carlito and his brother Primo became the only tag team to unify the WWE Tag Team Championships and World Tag Team Championships.
Stay tuned for updates.
