Who is the greatest tag team in professional wrestling today? Well, if you ignore the WWE main roster of Raw and SmackDown, as well as everyone in All Elite Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and any promotion out there except NXT and TNA, then that question is set to be answered at the upcoming WWE Roadblock special episode of NXT!
Along with the announcements that Oba Femi will put his NXT Championship on the line against TNA's X Division champion Moose as well as Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer fighting in a title-for-title match for both the NXT Women's Championship and NXT Women's North American Championship belts, there will also be a tag team match between The Hardy Boyz and Fraxiom!
Axiom and Nathan Frazer came into the ring on tonight's episode, following a match that saw Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy defeating No Quarter Catch Crew's Myles Borne and Tavion Heights. Fraxiom called themselves the best tag team in wrestling right now and put over The Hardy Boyz as possibly the greatest team ever, but The Hardy Boyz were quick to dispute the idea that they aren't still the best going at the moment. TNA Wrestling's Director of Authority Santino Marella then came out to make the announcement that he had been speaking to NXT General Manager Ava to come to the agreement that The Hardy Boyz will put their TNA World Tag Team Championships on the line in two weeks.
It's important to note that Fraxiom's NXT Tag Team Championships are not also up for grabs in this match, as only Giulia vs. Vaquer is for both titles.
Whether that spoils the ending of this (and Moose vs. Oba Femi) to be a clear-cut victory for The Hardy Boyz and Femi to avoid any championships changing hands or not, we will undoubtedly see The Hardy Boyz and Fraxiom put on the best show they can, and there is a ton of potential that this match could steal the show, if not more.
Roadblock is set to take place Tuesday, March 11th at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City as a special edition of NXT. It will air in its usual time slot of 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
