The overall theme for WWE Roadblock this year is clearly to put champions against other champions, as not only will Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer face off in a title-for-title match, and The Hardy Boyz will defend their TNA World Tag Team Championships against the NXT tag team champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer, but Oba Femi will also put his NXT Championship on the line against TNA Wrestling's Moose.
Moose wrestled on this week's NXT, wherein he defeated the NXT Heritage Cup champion Lexis King to retain his TNA X Division Championship. After the match, Oba Femi came out to stand in the ring with Moose and declare that the match between them that has been hyped up for a long time is now finally going to take place in two weeks.
It's important to note that this is not a title-for-title match. Instead, Femi said it would be "titan versus titan", which caused some momentary confusion for some fans who thought both belts were on the line following the announcement of Giulia vs. Vaquer. The X Division Championship is not up for grabs, though, as everything has specified this is just an NXT title match.
This is an interesting Tale of the Tape, as Femi has only lost twice (both times to Tony D'Angelo), is billed at 6'4, 273 lbs, and is not only the top champion in NXT, but the longest-reigning NXT North American champion. Moose, in comparison, is 6'5, 299 lbs and not just the current X Division champion, but a former two-time TNA/Impact world champion and two-time holder of the TNA Grand Championship.
Does The Ruler of NXT have what it takes to take out The Face of the Franchise for TNA, or will the leader of The System put Femi in his place and be the second person to have his number?
Roadblock is set to take place Tuesday, March 11th at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City as a special edition of NXT. It will air in its usual time slot of 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
