It became clear WWE had plans to call Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux up to the main roster once they started working dark matches prior to RAW and SmackDown, though there was some confusion surrounding why they weren't paired up. Ultimately, Kross would be saddled with a losing streak and gladiator gimmick on RAW, while Scarlett mysteriously vanished altogether.
There had been rumblings it might be injury-related, but she's now set the record straight.
"I was having matches before RAW and SmackDown because they wanted me to wrestle," Scarlett revealed on Oral Sessions with Renée Paquette. "After the second match, everything was going great. I got home that night, looked in the mirror, and I’m like, ‘One of these doesn’t look like the other.’"
She is, of course, referring to her breasts and went on to explain that she quickly needed surgery in order to right her breast augmentation. "With the adrenaline from wrestling, I didn’t even notice, like certain things hurt all the time, so I didn’t think anything of it. I went to Medical, and they said, ‘Oh my God, yes, one of your boobs is totally gone.’ I was like, ok, I can get the surgery, then I can manage and be at ringside."
"I just can’t wrestle right away, but the plan was, I guess, was for me to wrestle," Scarlett added. "They said, ‘When you’re totally cleared we’re going to have you wrestle.’ So they scrapped all the managing stuff at that point and I was sitting at home for those last four months just waiting."
The call never came and Scarlett was eventually released alongside Kross. It remains one of WWE's most baffling decisions as she's talented in the ring and on the mic, not to mention someone who could actually help combat the company's ratings woes when it comes to attracting young males.
Despite booking some independent appearances, Scarlett has yet to sign with a major promotion. However, the hope among fans is that she and Kross will eventually head to AEW.
