The New York Post recently spoke to AEW President Tony Khan about those big rumours that Daniel Bryan and CM Punk have signed deals with the company. While it's been widely reported that they've either signed or are about to, Khan chose his words extremely carefully.
Asked if he is currently in talks with any former WWE Champions, Khan responded: "I have no comment on those, but those are good questions but I can’t comment on those."
The site pushed him for details, though, and quizzed Khan on what it would mean to AEW to sign talents like Punk and Bryan to the company's roster at the same time. "I can’t comment on those two guys, but I think there are certainly a lot of exciting rumors right now," he teased.
Khan definitely knows what he's doing here, and this is bound to only get fans more excited.
The current rumour is that Punk will debut in Chicago at the All Out PPV, with Bryan set to make his debut on September 21 when AEW Dynamite heads to New York City for a special show.
For now, we're stuck having to wait and see, but it's definitely an exciting time to be an AEW fan.
