All Elite Wrestling has put together an impressive roster of female talent, but Tay Conti is someone who steals the show every time she appears on a Wednesday night. It's clear that she has a bright future in the company, and is a woman with the potential to be a top star in any company she works for.
Conti actually made her in-ring debut during WrestleMania Axxess on April 1st, 2017 in a match against Sarah Bridges. She lost but later participated in the inaugural Mae Young Classic.
She spent three years as part of NXT and WWE's developmental system but was released last year during those COVID-19 cuts. Since arriving in AEW, Conti has proved that WWE made a huge mistake not keeping her around, and she recently shed some light on her battles with the sports entertainment giant to be granted her freedom when it became clear they weren't going to book her.
"I remember they told me, 'No, you’re not gonna go to AEW,'" she recalled. "'We put a lot of money on you. You are a star blah, blah, blah.' I’m like, 'Yes, you guys don’t use me here. So I gotta go somewhere, but it’s not there. I know nobody there. I have no plans to go to AEW.'"
"We decided to keep working, and everything was good," Conti continued. "Out of nowhere, they called me because...I mean, not out of nowhere. Everybody knew was what was going on because of COVID, but I was not expecting the call since we were okay. They told me ‘We are finally letting you go’ not in a really good, I don’t how to explain it without being too mean, they’re not too nice."
We're glad the AEW star was able to head to greener pastures, and she's been keeping fans updated on social media with some unmissable photoshoots that...well, they leave us absolutely speechless!
