Brock Lesnar's last match in WWE was at SummerSlam 2023 when he was defeated by Cody Rhodes. In a rare sign of sportsmanship, he raised the American Nightmare's hand after the match, leaving that as the last memory many fans have of the former UFC star in WWE.
It's not a terrible note to go out on, but will The Beast ever return to WWE?
That could be easier said than done. When the lawsuit regarding Vince McMahon's alleged sexual abuse and trafficking first made headlines, the multi-time WWE Champion was unexpectedly dragged into the whole sorry affair.
In a damning exposé, McMahon was said to have offered WWE employee Janel Grant—the woman he's accused of abusing—to Lesnar as a bonus, of sorts, for signing a new deal. Texts showed that Lesnar responded positively to his boss's suggestion, though we've seen nothing to indicate they ever met (the former UFC star may have also believed he and McMahon were simply sharing a joke).
Either way, as the lawsuit rolls on, it could be impossible for WWE to bring Lesnar back into the fold without the risk of drawing negative publicity and potentially upsetting shareholders who are eager to move on from McMahon's supposed indiscretions.
Another photo of Lesnar is doing the rounds online this weekend, and while he looks as jacked as ever, the long hair and beard have led many fans to describe him as unrecognisable. We might not go that far, but this also isn't the clean-cut Lesnar we're typically used to seeing lay waste to his fellow Superstars in the ring.
The WWE Superstar has always kept himself to himself, but has made several public appearances this year. Apparently, when one fan asked him about a potential WWE return a few months ago, he responded by saying, "We'll see."
"You’d have to ask Brock Lesnar that," Triple H said last summer when he was asked if the former WWE Champion is likely to return. "Brock kind of does his own thing. He’s up in Canada, I’m sure, watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides he would like to do something, we’d be open to the conversation. We’ll see."
That echoed comments made by The Game after WrestleMania XL when he reiterated that Lesnar was not "gone" from WWE before adding, "His status is the same as it has been before. He’s just home being Brock."
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
