Remember that La Faccion Ingobernable faction with RUSH, Dralistico, and Preston Vance?
AEW actually developed the faction back in late 2023, where Vance had several vignettes that showcased him joining the popular Mexican stable. The 33-year-old even teamed with Dralistico and RUSH on several occasions.
But out of nowhere, the plans for that faction disappeared. To be honest, that feels like the story of RUSH’s AEW career.
Vance is still with AEW, but he mostly works down in Ring of Honor. He’s managed to form a new faction with Griff Garrison, Cole Karter, and Jacked Jameson known as The Frat House. Vance, RUSH, and Dralistico moved on, but the ROH star did briefly talk about his short lived time in LFI and even he doesn’t understand why the trio disbanded so quickly.
“I’ll be honest, I don’t even have an answer.” Vance told Mark O’Brien of Bodyslam.net “ I have no idea. RUSH doesn’t know. Yeah, that is one thing I am, I don’t want to say bitter because I’m not bitter, I think everything happens for a reason, but I’m confused on why it was so short-lived because I feel like we were getting some steam. I don’t know. Like I said, everything does happen for a reason, so I’m not mad about it, I’m not bitter about it. Just more like, ‘Hm, I don’t have the answers, and I don’t know if I’ll ever get them.’ But I’m still very thankful for that time working with him. I have kind of stole some stuff from RUSH, how he does stuff in the ring. I take everything as a learning experience," Vance said.
Despite the stop and start push here, Vance is happy to still be working for the promotion. Throughout the interview, he detailed his struggles in the early stages of his career, with Vance even recalling being homeless for three months. He finally got his big break during the pandemic by facing Austin and Colten Gunn. It was a test and he passed with flying colors.
Though his journey in ROH/AEW hasn’t been a smooth one, Vance is taking every opportunity and seizing it. The pro wrestler talked about his love for the business and gave some encouraging advice for anyone struggling at the moment:
“I had to fight for every single inch in this business. But I wouldn’t change a thing. If I can inspire one kid who’s struggling—whether it’s homelessness, Crohn’s disease, or self-doubt—then this journey was worth it.”
