Ever since the news broke that CM Punk may be heading to AEW, it's been pretty much the only thing the IWC has been talking about. Needless to say, this feels like the closest we've come to the Best in the World stepping back into the squared circle since he left WWE in 2014, and if that doesn't happen now, fans are going to be majorly disappointed.
It certainly won't be the same if Punk joins Dynamite's commentary team rather than actually wrestling, but we now have more backstage intel on how those working for AEW have reacted.
Apparently, there's been interest in Punk on the company's side since last year, though it's unclear whether talks started then. Either way, AEW officials have been talking a lot about the former WWE Champion in recent months, but talent has understandably been kept in the dark.
Now, though, it's said that a lot of AEW stars have been asking questions about what Punk is like to work with, so it seems they're gearing up to welcome him with open arms.
Rumour has it that WWE is looking to counter AEW signing Punk and Daniel Bryan by bringing back Braun Strowman, but something tells us that won't have the same sort of impact! The Monster Among Men is certainly an attraction, but the two former WWE Superstars making the leap to AEW promises to make headlines around the world.
