AXS TV is no longer partnering with Women of Wrestling.

As first reported by Pro Sports Extra, Anthem Sports and Entertainment has confirmed that they will no longer carry the all-women’s promotion and will solely focus on Impact Wrestling. Since Anthem took over AXS TV last year, both New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Women of Wrestling have been cancelled from the channel’s line-up. As of this writing, there’s no confirmed word on why W.O.W was taken off their programming line-up.

The promotion was picked up by AXS TV in 2018 and ran for two seasons on the network. The company launched in 2000 using a format of character driven performers, with names mirroring a comic book series, such as Jungle Grrrl, an inmate tag-team complete with orange jump suits named Caged Heat, a Hollywood starlet named Lana Star, and The Temptress, which is the former Katie Lea Burchill from the WWE, and even Tessa Blanchard was a prominent figure on the second season.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, it doesn’t sound like Women of Wrestling will be off television for long as a new distribution deal is reportedly in the works and should be announced when the restrictions of the global pandemic is lifted.
