This past weekend, the A, B, and C Block finals for the King of Gate 2020 tournament has officially been determined.

For fifteen years, the Japanese promotion has held the annual round-robin style competition that has featured popular names such as NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi (2010 winner) and former WWE United States Champion Ricochet (2013 winner).

This year’s 24-man tournament has adjusted their format due to the coronavirus situation, with Block A, Block B, and Block C competing in an elimination style instead of the traditional round-robin style. On Friday, Diamante and YAMATO managed to beat their respective opponents and will clash in the final Block A tournament match-up. YAMATO is a previous King of Gate winner, with the former Open the Dream Gate Champion beating Big R Shimizu to win the 2016 event.

On Saturday, Kait Ishida and Naruki Doi advanced to the final round for the Block B portion of the tournament. On Sunday, Eita and Dragon Dia won their respective matches to adavnce into the final round of Block C. We’ll keep you updated on the results once the final tournament matches are finished.
