Could Private Party be done with All Elite Wrestling?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen’s contracts are coming up very soon. The actual end date of their contracts have yet to be confirmed, but multiple sources claim that Private Party’s contract is up sooner than later. At the moment, there’s no word on whether AEW is interested in re-signing the former AEW World Tag Team Champions. Injury time could be added to their contracts, but again, there hasn’t been any confirmation on what Tony plans to do with Private Party.

However, if Tony Khan doesn’t have much interest in keeping Private Party around then WWE could likely snatch them up. Sean Ross Sapp does state in a separate report that WWE does have interest in the duo. It’s unknown whether the tag team has had any talks with anyone from WWE.

Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen have not been on AEW television since January 22. That was the night where they were essentially squashed by The Hurt Syndicate. Even before they dropped the AEW World Tag Team titles, Tony Khan didn’t have much interest in showcasing the tag team champions as they were barely featured on Dynamite and Collision.

Private Party beat The Young bucks for the prestigious belts in October and only defended them twice. It was genuinely a feel good moment as The Bucks previously touted Private Party as the future of the tag team division, but the booking showcased that AEW only cared about that single moment since they didn't do anything significant since. Private Party only held the AEW World Tag Team titles for 84 days.

It would be a shame if Tony Khan opted against signing Quen and Kassidy because they were one of the bright spots in the company when they came onboard in 2019. Kassidy and Quen have tons of charisma and though they aren’t perfect wrestlers, they still have plenty of great matches under their belt. We’ll surely find out what happens as the months go by.

Quen and Kassidy are not injured. They just aren’t being used. The duo did recently compete at a House of Glory show back in March, but they haven’t fought in a wrestling ring since. Thus far, neither of the former AEW World Tag Team Champions have said anything about their status with AEW. We’ll keep you updated should anything change.
