Alberto El Patron has officially announced that he plans to return to the world of MMA for a fight with the Combate Americas promotion.

Patron, real name Alberto Rodriguez, aka Del Rio, has prior experience fighting in Mexico and Japan, and revealed on The MMA Hour that he's now signed on for a bout with a "former super champion" at some point next year.

“I’m going to jump back in the cage — or in the cage for the first time — because I used to fight in rings in Mexico and in Asia, but never inside the cage,” said the former WWE Champion.

Patron hasn't really endeared himself to many folks since leaving WWE, so there are probably more than a few people that will be looking forward to seeing how this fight goes.

We'll update as soon as we have more details, but for now let us know what you think of this news down below.
