Hammerstone will be out of action for a bit.

Unfortunately, the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion banged up his knee during a “Loser Wears A Turkey Suit” match at Turning Point. The match featured Joe Hendry, Brian Meyers, Rhino, John Skyler, and Eric Young; Hendry picked up the victory by pinning Meyers.

It’s not known when Hammerstone was injured, but it’s said that Brian Meyers nicely improvised several spots once it was clear that the TNA star was injured.

As of this writing, there’s no confirmation on how serious the injury is. It would be a shame if Hammerstone had to sit on the sidelines since he started to hit his stride lately. The former MLW star made his official debut back in January and immediately got into a feud with former Impact World Champion Josh Alexander.

These two had excellent chemistry with one another and produced a set of great matches in early 2024. In fact, their Last Man Standing match at Rebellion is one of the best wrestling matches from any promotion this year.

Hammerstone slid down the card and competed for the X-Division championship at Emergence, but his stock went up when he was the surprise opponent for former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi on the September 10th episode of NXT.

The following week, Hammerstone beat Tony D’Angelo via countout. There’s no word on whether there are plans for him to return to the developmental brand, but with D’Angelo being the current NXT North American Champion, it would be a surprise if NXT officials didn’t revisit this match down the line.

Hammerstone has had a relatively quiet 2024 despite his name being hot coming into TNA in 2024. The former MLW star showcased why many deemed him as a future WWE main eventer on several occasions in his run thus far, but Hammerstone has been on the back burner competing in the mid-card.

Hopefully, the injury is nothing too serious and Hammerstone will be able to return within a month or two. Him and Tony D’Angelo had some nice chemistry in their match in NXT, so it would be great if he got another chance to show off his skills against the current NXT North American Champion.

The report doesn’t state on whether any plans for Hammerstone were ruined, but given the lack of information on the injury, it seems that TNA is still wanting to understand just how serious it is.
