Eddie Edwards remains the Impact World Champion.
Impact Wrestling opened with a bang last night as Trey Miguel challenged Eddie Edwards for the prestigious title. The bout started as a stalemate between the two competitors until both men bumped into each other heading into the break.
Coming back, Miguel and Edwards were still evenly matched as they traded stiff strikes inside of the ring. Eventually, Miguel got the brief advantage thanks to a springboard stunner that got him a solid nearfall. The Rascalz member went for a dive; however, Edwards countered with a flapjack. He then attempted a tiger bomb, but Miguel managed to counter out with a huracanrana. After some more back-and-forth between the two, Eddie would end up getting the win after the Boston Knee Party within 11 minutes.
The Impact World Champion couldn’t celebrate just yet as Eric Young instantly made his way down to the ring and teased attacking Edwards, but the returning star simply toyed with the veteran and told him that he’ll do things on his time.
