Its official, Eli Drake is done with IMPACT Wrestling.

IMPACT released a statement this past weekend confirming that the former World Champion is no longer with the company:

"IMPACT Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its relationship with Shaun Ricker, known as ‘Eli Drake’."

Drake’s contract was originally set to end on May 31st; however, according to PWInsider.com, the reasoning behind the former IMPACT star’s early release stems from management being unhappy with Drake's recent comments about the company and his refusal to face Tessa Blanchard at United We Stand.

It’s been previously speculated that WWE had interest in the former IMPACT World champion, so its possible that he could return there. However, that’s just merely rumors at this point. Drake currently has a program going with Eddie Edwards, but there’s no word on whether IMPACT will cut the footage for his segments in the upcoming weeks. At this time, the former IMPACT star has yet to comment on his release from the company.
