It appears that Johnny “Impact” Hennigan is done with Impact Wrestling.

To the surprise of many, the former Impact World Champion lost his X-Division title match against Rich Swann at Slammiversary XVII; however, Hennigan was actually wrestling under an extension deal with the company at that point. According to PWInsider, his contract actually expired several weeks ago, but the two sides agreed that he would continue through the Slammiversary show in order to finish off his storyline with Rich Swann.

There’s no word on what the future holds for Johnny; however, the word is that Hennigan and Impact management are still in talks about working together in the future. Hennigan’s wife, Taya Valkyrie, the current Impact Knockouts Champion, is still under contract with the company as her deal is believed to run through the end of 2019.

The former Impact star had been with the company since 2017 and managed to capture the Impact World title once at Bound For Glory 2018. At the moment, there’s no word on whether promotions such as AEW, WWE, NJPW, or ROH have interest in Hennigan.
