Ridge Holland is back in TNA.
The return of Ken Anderson and the Hardcore War for Bound For Glory wasn’t the only big news to come out of TNA Wrestling Thursday.
Mike Santana has his shot against Trick Williams at the company’s big pay-per-view on October 12th. Of course, that could change if Oba Femi beats Trick for the TNA World title on Tuesday, which was what Mike was addressing on Impact!
But doing his promo, Ridge Holland attacked the New York native and took him out in a nasty looking cradle DDT. Thus far, a match hasn’t been confirmed between Holland and Santana, though Santana’s scheduled is a little light at the upcoming Victory Road special so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the match was made for the Impact Plus exclusive.
Ridge Holland hasn’t been seen on NXT television since May. The 37-year-old was down in WWE’s Evolve after failing to become the number contender for the NXT Championship in a huge battle royal. At the moment, there’s no word on why Holland assaulted Santana, though the answer may be on the upcoming Tuesday episode of NXT, which is going to be huge.
The Winner-Takes-All-Match is going to rock the landscape of both WWE and NXT. There feels like an impending war that is brewing between the two brands and Holland is the latest sign that it’ll come to fruition. The war between NXT and TNA is pure speculation, though several sites such as the Wrestling Observer has confirmed that the battle between brands is coming very soon. Then again, it's hard not to see the two brands colliding given the building for the past couple of months.
Did Trick Williams send Ridge Holland out there to attack Mike Santana? Hopefully, we’ll find out soon! All eyes are on the NXT vs. TNA World Champion match on Tuesday, so some answers should be coming soon. In addition, the winner of the Candice LaRae vs. Lainey Reid will challenge Sol Ruca for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship.
