Recently released WWE Superstar Austin Aries made his return to Impact tonight in Orlando, and wound up pinning Eli Drake to become the new Global Champion.

Aries, who is a former TNA Champion in his own right, came to the ring to confront Drake before being attacked by Chris Adonis. An impromptu title match was then made, and "the greatest man that ever lived" pulled out the victory to win the title.

The tapings are actually still underway so we'll update if there's any more news on this, but for now you can check out some photos below.
