Mickie James isn’t the only knockout joining the TNA Hall of Fame in 2025.
Two of the original knockouts that kicked off the division in 2005 has just been confirmed as the latest inductees for the TNA Hall of Fame - Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. Just like Mickie, TNA President Silva pulled up on the Beautiful People and he surprised them with the Hall of Fame announcement.
Before there was Laycool, it was the Beautiful People. In addition to Gail Kim and Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People really helped showcase just how diverse the knockouts division really was and the faction was a huge draw for TNA at the time.
The characters were actually inspired by Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. But instead of playing dumb blondes, The Beautiful People were shallow and self-absorbed heels who wanted to cleanse the TNA roster of “one ugly person at a time.”
Love and Sky were the main two members of the group for two years until Madison Rayne joined in 2009. Lacey Von Erich would join later on that year, though she wouldn’t last too long with TNA. The faction eventually imploded in 2011. The Beautiful People would make reunion appearances throughout the years, though the last time they were together was in ROH as the Allure from 2019 - 2023.
The TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame ceremony is Sunday, October 12, at Bound For Glory, which will air live around the world from the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Mass.
The Beautiful People and James will join Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Earl Hebner, Gail Kim, Abyss, Ken Shamrock, Awesome Kong, Raven, Raven, Tracy Brooks, Rhino & Bob Ryder, Team 3D, Mike Tenay & Don West in their Hall of Fame.
This is another well deserved induction as The Beautiful People helped put the Knockouts division on the map. Sky wasn’t necessarily the strongest wrestler, but Love had all the tools to lead the Knockouts division and there’s no denying that both women were valuable in the Beautiful People act. Congratulations to Angelina Love and Velvet Sky!
