It's been a long time coming, but Christopher Daniels has finally become ROH World Champion after besting Adam Cole in the main event of the company's 15th Anniversary PPV event. The "Fallen Angel" first fought his way fought through the Decade of Excellence Tournament, before pinning Cole in the final. Daniels is now the fourth ever ROH Triple Crown champion.
Daniels has been synonymous with Ring of Honor since its inception, but he's also known for his time in TNA (now "Impact wrestling") where he engaged in several classic matches with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe, and put his stamp on the X-Division. Though he never made a name for himself in WWE, he was infamously supposed to debut as The Undertaker's "Higher Power" during The Dead Man's feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin, before Vince McMahon decided to fulfill the role himself.
Congratulations on your well-deserved title reign, Chris.
