Josh Alexander and Ethan Page remain the Impact World Tag Team champions.
Despite Eddie Edwards being a former five-time TNA World Tag Team Champion, both him and Tessa Blanchard made the rookie mistake of letting frustration get the best of them as the match-up broke down due to the third-generation star and Edwards arguing back-and-forth.
The North was able to capitalize on the moment of distrust between the two partners as Alexander and Edwards connected with their tag team finisher after Blanchard refused to tag in Edwards. The latest challengers are added to the list of LAX (Ortiz and Santana), Rich Swann and Willie Mack, RVD and Rhino, The Rascalz, and TJP and Fallah Bahh, as teams who have failed to defeat the reigning champs.
Following the pinfall, the Impact World Champion and Edwards squabbled a bit more. As Eddie was making his way to the back, Michael Elgin blindsided Blanchard from behind. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion had the chance to help the reigning world champion; however, Edwards opted to return backstage as Elgin laid out Blanchard with a devastating powerbomb.
