There May Finally Be Some Good News For A Fourth Season Of LUCHA UNDERGROUND

Lucha Underground was the hottest wrestling promotion out there for a while but with over a year having passed since the third season was filmed, we may finally have an update on what's next for the company.

It's been a year since the third season of Lucha Underground was taped and with that finally airing on the El Rey Network, many wrestling fans have been wondering if and when a fourth season will ever happen. Well, according to Dave Meltzer, things might be looking up for the promotion (at last). They now have a source of funding but it's going to result in some significant budget cutbacks.

However, while this source of funding will be "earmarking far, far less money per episode and for the season," Meltzer notes that things for Lucha Underground now look "better than bleak."

That's not the most positive update but it's something! Unfortunately, a number of stars reportedly want to be released from the company so they can start working elsewhere and Ricochet - one of their biggest draws - revealed in a recent interview that he's unlikely to return. We'll have to wait and see what happens but it's fair to say that this update is better than nothing in the grand scheme of things!
