UFC welterweight and veteran Thiago Alves returns to the octagon on January 14th in St. Louis. The 22-11 professional fighter was originally scheduled to take on Mike Perry back in September at UFC Pittsburgh, but had to withdraw due to complications with Hurricane Irma. Before then, Alves last fought in April at UFC 210 as he defeated another veteran, Patrick Cole, via unanimous decision.

Alves will be taking on Zak Cummings, the current welterweight stands at 21-5-0; with him winning four out of his last five fights. Cumming's last fight was against Nathan Coy back on UFC Fight Night in April in which he won via submission.

It was also announced that lightweight bouts James Krause vs. Alex White and Polo Reyes vs. Matt Frevola will take place on the January 14th card as well.
