What’s going on with Ash by Elegance?

At Victory Road, the former TNA Knockouts Champion surprised everyone by vacating her title due to no longer being able to compete. Ash never gave a reason on why she had to relinquish the belt, with the natural conclusion being that she’s dealing with a major injury that’s forced her to take a step back from in-ring competition.

It’s been nearly two weeks since the shocking revelation and there’s still more questions than answers in regards to what’s going on with Ash by Elegance. At first, fans thought this was some kind of work, but Tommy Dreamer recently cleared the air by confirming that this is all real.

“She is no longer physically able to compete, per her statement and that’s it,” Dreamer said on Busted Open Radio (h/t Wrestling Inc). “There’s HIPAA laws involved and stuff like that. People shouldn’t speculate. If it’s a work, you’re not going to hand in your title.”

Now the TNA President has chimed in about the former Knockouts Champion and though he doesn’t particularly explain exactly what’s going on with Ash, he does confirm to Wrestle Zone that she’s not medically cleared to compete.

“Ash and I had a nice set of time when we were recently together in Edmonton [for TNA Victory Road]. What I can tell you is exactly what everyone has said; she’s not medically cleared to wrestle. And so, she’s going to step away. But I think she’s really appreciative of TNA, appreciative of the locker room and working with all of us. I told Ash that she’s got a home here at TNA, whenever she decides, whenever it all gets sorted out; she knows that.

“And so we’ll continue to do stuff with Ash and talk about it and figure it out as a good teammate. And she’s great. I think she’s brought just some great energy and attitude to the ring. And her having the TNA belt, I know it was a short time, but I think it did elevate everything. The Elegance Brand got elevated. We hope she’s not going to go too far away and we’ll be able to do some stuff together. But I think we just have to give her a little bit of time. And she knows that she can pick up the phone and call or text us anytime, so we can figure it out.”

There’s no word on whether Ash will be able to return to the ring or not. It’s likely that the TNA wrestler wants her privacy in regards to such a personal manner, but hopefully everything works out and she’s able to return to the ring eventually.
