Is Elijah coming home soon?
Unfortunately, the former WWE star suffered a serious injury back in June attempting The Undertaker’s top rope spot during a six-man tag team match on the June 17th episode of NXT. TNA followed up by confirming that the 37-year-old was sidelined with a triceps injury.
The TNA star gave an update about his injury status during his WrestleZone interview where his recovery progress is going smoothly.
“I was on NXT TV a little over three months ago, wrestling against Trick Williams. I jumped off of the top rope, I landed in a bad way and I tore my tricep right off the bone. So I’ve got myself a nice little scar here now and a screw in my arm. Which, it is what it is in wrestling, but yeah, the rehab is coming along well.”
Elijah doesn’t give a particular date on when fans could see him back in a TNA ring; however, he would surely love to come back and wrestle at the upcoming live events that the promotion has planned.
“I’m feeling pretty good right now. But ultimately, it’s a surgeon and doctor call for me,” he continued. “I am supposed to see them relatively soon. I’ve told them I want to be good to go by Orlando in, what do we got here, about three weeks? But again, it’s not ultimately my call.”
“If that was the case, if they gave me the go-ahead, I’m by in the mix and I’m good to go. And if not by Orlando, I’d love to do it by El Paso. And I think I’m at least healthy enough to play a song or smash somebody with a guitar if I have to.”
Though Elijah isn’t good enough to wrestle, he has not problems swinging a guitar as the TNA star did appear at Bound For Glory. He smashed his signature guitar against Nic Nemeth’s head and he had so much fun doing it.
“At [Bound For Glory], I was healthy enough to smash somebody with a guitar, so that was fun,” Elijah said. “I had to test [my arm out], see if it could handle it.”
TNA is on break right now, so Elijah really isn’t missing anything at the moment. It was rumored that he could be sidelined for six to eight months, so it’s possible that he may return in December if this is true. However, it’s likely that Elijah won’t be walking the Impact Zone until early 2026, unless something goes wrong during his recovery.
