WWE Hall Of Famer Edge Once Considered Making The Leap To TNA
Edge broke out of the tag team division to become one of the most memorable WWE Champions of all-time but the Rated-R Superstar has made the shock admission that he very nearly decided to make the leap to TNA.
Edge's WWE run was cut short far too soon and had that career threatening injury not brought a halt to that, it's easy to imagine him still being one of the company's top stars. However, on the latest edition of his and Christian's Pod of Awesomeness with guest Drew McIntyre, Edge made the shocking revelation that he very nearly made the jump from WWE to TNA.
You can hear all the details in the video below but the gist was that after Christian started talking to TNA in 2005 (which he did ultimately end up in for a brief stint), the company reached out to Edge and made him a contract offer when his WWE deal was set to empire in 2008 or 2009. Obviously, that would have led to him becoming one of their top names at the time.
Edge admits that he found many things about TNA intriguing (including the lighter schedule, Christian being there, and the opportunity to square off with the likes of AJ Styles and Samoa Joe) but WWE was his home, he was already an established main eventer there, and wanted to remain loyal to a company that had invested a lot in him. What could have been, though, eh?
