It sounds like we may soon see Melina Perez back with WWE.

The former Diva's and Women's Champion had been one of the main fixtures of the NWA Women's Division, and was all set to begin feuding with Thunder Rosa for the Women's World Championship before the pandemic slowed the promotion to a halt. Now, PW Insider has been "told by multiple sources that Perez will be returning to WWE programming within the next week."

We had heard that Melina was asked to make an appearance in the most recent Women's Royal Rumble but was still under contract with NWA at the time and couldn't oblige. Since then, rumors have persisted that the one-time valet of Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro, MNM, was negotiating a new contract, but this is the first solid update we've had in quite a while.

Melina wasn't really seen as being a great "worker" back in the day, but she has definitely improved her in-ring game since, and had a series of very impressive matches in NWA. We have no idea how she'll be utilized when she returns to WWE, but if this report is accurate, we may find out as soon as tonight's episode of Raw.
