Believe it or not, it's now been four months since WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt sadly passed away. Triple H brought the former WWE Champion back into the fold last year and the stage was being set to introduce a whole new Wyatt Family before he was sidelined with health issues.
Those appeared to be improving, only for Wyatt - whose real make was Windham Rotunda - to pass away from heart complications in his sleep.
The news of his death shook the pro wrestling world to its core; he had four children and was due to marry former WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman earlier this winter. The company previously revealed that all sales of Bray's merchandise would benefit his family, but they've now taken that a step further.
During an appearance on the Wrasslin Talk with Mayor McCall podcast, his father - WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda - shared some insights into how the family has been coping.
"It's been really hard. We miss him every day. Growing up in the business, you always book stuff during the week because you're going to be wrestling on the weekends and TV," he reflected. "Windham and Jojo were supposed to get married yesterday. We miss Windham horribly, every day. Windham was the first one and we would bring him on the road at six months old."
"They would come with me and stay on the road, wherever I was wrestling, and it's so hard to wake up out of this nightmare and he's still not there."
Rotunda went on to reveal that, since Bray's passing, WWE has quietly put him on a "Legends" contract which will see all the proceeds from merchandise sales go to his family.
"I have to give WWE credit. They've done awesome helping our family out with a lot of different stuff," Rotunda explained. "They put Windham on a Legends contract and all the proceeds go to...Windham has four children. Luckily, we have them."
That's an amazing move and one which shows just how different WWE is under Triple H's watch. We're not saying Vince McMahon wouldn't have done something similar, but the vibe from the company is much different now and it's become clear The Game - who has also given WWE Superstars time off over the holidays - has his wrestler's families at the forefront of his mind.
