The angle involving Murphy (31) and Rey Mysterio's daughter Aalyah (19) has already come in for quite a lot of backlash, and the heat is probably only going to intensify after what took place on Raw this week.
The Mysterio family appeared on the King's Court to address Seth Rollins' comments from last week, and The Monday Night Messiah popped up on the screen in an attempt to drive the wedge in even further. Rollins had taken his disciple's phone earlier in the night, and exposed some text messages between the two.
There was nothing particularly intimate, although they did mention meeting up. An incensed Dominik attacked Murphy backstage, setting up a match for later on.
Murphy ended up winning the bout with a roll-up pin when Aalyah distracted (inadvertently?) her brother, and when Dom attacked him with a kendo stick afterwards, she jumped in front of him while saying Murphy was nothing like Seth Rollins. Dom called her naïve, and got a slop in the face for his troubles.
We have no idea where this is going, but WWE should treat very carefully here. Just because Aalyah is an adult (just), it doesn't make it any less creepy that she's being "courted" by a man in his thirties - especially in the wake of the recent #SpeakingOut movement.
