Earlier today, we told you about UFC owner Endeavor's acquisition of WWE. You can find all the details on that here, but newly minted WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon is now doing the media rounds to discuss the sale.
In doing so, we finally have a proper look at his dyed hair, eyebrows, and new mustache. For years, we've heard stories that Vince hates facial hair and that he even carries a razor with him so he doesn't get so much as the faintest trace of stubble. Something has changed, though, and he's looking...good?
We'll let you decide, but Vince has also revealed whether he intends to get hands-on with WWE creative again.
Triple H has been calling the shots since his father-in-law's brief retirement and, thankfully, it doesn't sound like too much will change. "Yes and no. On a higher level, yes," Vince says. "In the weeds, which I always loved to get into the weeds in the past...no, can’t do that."
So, he'll be in the background but won't be in charge of RAW and SmackDown each week. That is a relief.
Vince also sent out the following statement to WWE employees today:
"I'm excited to announce that WWE has entered into a partnership with Endeavor to create a one-of-a-kind company that will bring together two global sports and entertainment powerhouses: WWE and UFC."
"The historic alliance of these two formidable institutions has the potential to unlock vast growth opportunities for both organizations and generate an optimal outcome for our employees, shareholders, fans, and other stakeholders."
"We are huge admirers of the work Endeavor has done to grow the UFC brand, and they will be the perfect partner to help supercharge our growth at WWE."
Another email has reportedly confirmed that "Paul Levesque will remain WWE’s chief content executive."
