WRESTLEMANIA Main Event Referee Reportedly Fined For Botched Pinfall Finish

Frightful.com is reporting that WWE referee Rod Zapata has been fined an undisclosed amount over the finish of WrestleMania's main event this past Sunday.

Apparently, he came under fire for not stopping the three count when Ronda Rousey had her shoulder up during the pinfall. WWE referees are supposed to officiate matches as if they are real (so, if someone doesn't kick out at three, they keep counting even if they were supposed to win) but this definitely confuses the situation.

Was he supposed to stop the pinfall because another finish was planned or is WWE unhappy with the controversy surrounding the fact Ronda had her shoulder up and would have preferred to see her and Lynch redo that?

It's impossible to say but Vince McMahon reportedly Zapata aside the next night at RAW and we'll hopefully learn a lot more about this sooner rather than later.
