Mandy Rose has been released by WWE less than 24 hours after losing the NXT Women's Championship to Roxanne Perez, a defeat that ended her historic 413-day title reign.
It's said that content posted to her $25 per month FanTime page proved problematic for WWE, and based on social media chatter, that's in reference to nude and partially nude photos. Vince McMahon may be gone, but the company remains PG, and Triple H clearly felt it was no longer viable to keep Rose on the roster with content like that readily available online.
Remember, this is the same WWE that spent years pretending Chyna didn't exist because a quick Google search of the late pro wrestler will lead you to a fair bit of adult content.
Signed in 2015 after competing in the sixth season of WWE Tough Enough, Rose initially competed on NXT before moving up to the main roster. There, she found success alongside Sonya Deville and Paige as part of Absolution and Fire and Desire before embarking on a memorable romance with Otis.
Fans were shocked when Rose returned to NXT last July as part of Toxic Attraction with a striking new look, and even more surprised when she won the NXT Women's Championship from Raquel Rodriguez later that year. The former Golden Goddess would go on to unify that belt with the NXT UK Women's title, cementing herself as a top female Superstar.
It felt like there were huge plans for Rose back on RAW and SmackDown, but that's quite clearly no longer the case. We'll keep you updated if Rose and/or WWE comment on her release.
