WWE Reportedly Has A Unique Stipulation In Mind For Cody Rhodes' Upcoming Rematch With Brock Lesnar

We recently learned that WWE is planning to have Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar's rubber match take place at SummerSlam, but it's unlikely to be a standard singles bout. Find everything we know so far here...

After WrestleMania, it appeared as if Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar were going to form an unlikely tag team. Sadly, The Beast revealed his true colours and laid waste to the American Nightmare.

That led to a match at Backlash, where Rhodes outwitted the former WWE Champion with a cunning pin. Brock was understandably unhappy about that, and a few weeks later on RAW, he broke the babyface's arm.

Even so, they still faced off again at Night of Champions, with Rhodes ultimately losing only after passing out while trapped in the Kimura armbar.

He wants a rematch but, based on last night's episode of RAW, it's going to be a while before Lesnar shows up again.

That makes sense when the bout isn't expected to take place until SummerSlam and Wrestling Observer Live's Bryan Alvarez has claimed WWE may have a unique stipulation in mind for the match.

"I have been told that it is gonna be something," he teased. "It's not just gonna be a straight match. They've got some sort of stip that allegedly we have not seen in a while and that means not Hell in a Cell."

"So I wonder what stip they might be coming up with for the third match between these two."

It was recently reported that Rhodes pushed for a Dog Collar match, only to have the pitch rejected by WWE (he's a big fan of that stipulation and actually took part in a Dog Collar match with the late Brodie Lee in AEW). With that in mind, your guess is as good as ours when it comes to what this rematch will look like.

A Submission match is certainly one possibility, though, as is a Last Man Standing match. Whatever the case ends up being, we'd bet on the American Nightmare emerging victorious from this rivalry before he sets his sights back on the WWE Championship.
