It's been an exciting year for Damian Priest. He cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 to become World Heavyweight Champion and had several successful titles before dropping the title to Gunther at SummerSlam

Fans soon started getting behind The Judgement Day member, leading to him leaving the faction and becoming a fan-favourite babyface.

This Monday's RAW saw Priest lose to Dominik Mysterio before absolutely destroying the heel; it's raised a lot of questions about what WWE has planned for him moving forward, and we may have some insights courtesy of WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon.

"We’ll start with Damian Priest as we left off with him Monday Night Raw wise, we’re told that there are talks to strengthen the Damian Priest character in regards to merchandising and appearance. WWE has discussed priests paying homage to his Puerto Rican culture with him embracing the vejigante mask. Apologies if that’s not pronounced, right."

"However, that was the research that led to the pronunciation of the vejigante mask. If you recall, Priest has done this mask once before Wrestlemania 40 when he came out with Finn Balor for the tag team match. So we’re told WWE is strongly considering making this part of his character and really turning up his baby face persona."

For those of you wondering, here's what that's a reference to:

It's an exciting possible direction to take Priest in and one we're intrigued to see play out in the weeks ahead. With any luck, it's a move that will take him back into the main event scene too.

"That whole day at WrestleMania 40, it was insane," Priest recalled in a recent interview. "So many things had already changed. The closer we got to it, many people who are very, very smart came up to me and said, ‘Things can change.’ So you never know. I knew things could change, even up to the last minute."

"I’ve been [babyface] before, but it wasn’t always me. This is me," he added. "And it’s cool to have people support me not because they’re told to, but because they want to."

As always, stay tuned for updates as we have them.
