This week's SmackDown Live wasn't groundbreaking but it did at least improve on last Tuesday's mediocre effort. While the show does appear to be in a holding pattern, things looked up at least a little thanks to the return of Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura finally putting an end to Jinder Mahal's awful and offensive promos, and another confrontation between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens.

In terms of ratings, that amounted to a total of 2.542 million viewers. That's a slight increase from last week's 2.510 million viewers but is a pretty standard figure for the Tuesday night show.

This is still down from the 2.75 million that SmackDown Live did when Vince McMahon returned but there's still time for things to improve before Hell in a Cell. Nothing has been advertised for next week's show but there's plenty of time for WWE to hype things up and make the show one which should be well worth tuning into.
