DEFIANT Wrestling Announces That They Are Officially Closing Down
After being one of the most popular British independent promotions for the last three years, Defiant Wrestling has officially closed it's doors. Check out the final statement made by the pro wrestling company.
It has been an absolutely incredible journey over the past three years, but it is with a heavy heart that we today announce that the journey must come to an end.⁰⁰— DEFIANT Wrestling (@DEFIANTwres) August 1, 2019
To each and every one of you who worked on a show, attended a show, or watched a show… thank you. pic.twitter.com/ox6G9cNWAH
Defiant was one of the premier wrestling promotions on the British Independent Wrestling scene, with notable names and talents working past shows such as Cody Rhodes, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Will Ospreay, and Ricochet.
Despite the wealth of talent that’s competed under the Defiant banner, the company has been unable to keep crowd interest due to losing big names throughout the years. Even though the promotion only had a three-year stint, it produced dozens of memorable matches that fans are still talking about today.
Check out some of the wrestlers who expressed their fond memories of the now defunct company:

Defiant/WCPW put so much effort into the entrance, music, screens, backstage promos, hotels, travel, ring, crew.
They honestly went above and beyond to give fans a higher quality of independent wrestling.
Truth is without WCPW I wouldn’t have had one of the matches that helped me break out in the UK Scene.— Travis Banks (@Travis_BanksPW) August 1, 2019
