Billie Starkz is done with being Athena’s minion!
The international four-way qualifier on last night’s Ring of Honor saw Athena vs. Red Velvet vs. Billie Starkz vs. Leyla Hirsch. Before the match, Athena demanded that the former ROH Women’s World Television Champion lay down so she could get the pin. But when the time came, Billie refused.
Athena took matters into her own hands as she took advantage of Starkz by tossing her out of the ring and stealing the pin to win the match. Athena became the first woman to qualify for the International Women’s Cup Four-way match at Wrestle Dynasty.
As you can imagine, Billie was pissed and she confronted the longest reigning ROH Champion in the company’s history.
The 20-year-old demanded a rematch for the women’s title at Final Battle. Athena agreed. However, in Athena’s mind, she expects Billie to lay down and give her the easy one, two, three. ROH made the match official later in the night.
The Athena and Billie Starkz feud has been building for over a year. These two had an excellent match at last year’s Final Battle and Starkz won the respect of the ROH Women’s World Champion. Since then, Athena had been mentoring the young star and helped her win the inaugural ROH Women’s World Television title. However, their relationship turned sour once Starkz lost the belt to Red Velvet.
Athena has been the women’s champion for more than 730 days. Will Billie Starkz be able to finally beat her mentor at the final pay-per-view in 2024? Athena has a stacked lists of names that have fallen to the forever champion including Angelina Love, Mercedes Martinez, Hikaru Shida, and Willow Nightingale. Will she add Billie Starkz's name to the list again?
