This one is personal
Not everyone is happy about Alex Hammerstone’s return. The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion came home earlier this year and challenged Ultimo Guerrero for the MLW National Openweight Championship. It was supposed to be one on one, but Justice was added to the bout.
That’s where everything took a turn for the worst. Justice is the reason that Hammerstone failed to win the National Openweight Championship and the two got into a massive brawl that quickly spiraled out of control.
Naturally, Hammerstone was pissed off and questioned Matt’s place within MLW. But Matt called out Hammerstone for walking away and promised to put an end to the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion. It’s been confirmed that these two will meet in what’s likely going to be an extremely violent Texas Death Match.
Matthew Justice is no stranger to brutal and violence matches. Ever since he came to MLW in 2023, the former MLW National Openweight Champion was paired with a psycho (Mance Warner) and the two happily brought chaos in the MLW locker room. Justice has been in falls count anywhere matches, Chamber of Horrors matches, and War Chamber matches, and though he didn’t win each and every single time, he fought until he couldn’t stand. He’s prepared for this upcoming death match.
But so is Alex Hammerstone.
Just because Hammerstone has been away from MLW doesn’t mean he’s lost his edge. The 34-year-old has more experience than his opponent and isn’t afraid to shed any blood if necessary. Who will walk out the last man standing on Saturday, September 13?
The Texas Death match joins a rather stacked card that will be headlined with Matt Riddle defending his MLW World Heavyweight title against Donovan Dijak. This is following their last match where it was plagued with a disqualification due to Mads Krule Krügger attempting to interfere with a cash-in. Also, the Opera Cup tournament will continue as Volador Jr. and Titan are set to clash in a first round match-up.
Check out the updated line-up for MLW’s Fightland card:
- MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle defends against Donovan Dijak
- Templario vs. Ikuro Kwon for the vacant MLW Middleweight Championship
- Opera Cup tournament first-round match: Volador Jr. vs. Titan
- Texas Death Match: Alex Hammerstone vs. Matthew Justice
