Anna Jay will make her return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

The AEW star made her debut for the promotion at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in November by competing in a four-way contender’s match for the NJPW STRONG Women’s title against Hazuki, Koguma, and Trish Adora. The 26-year-old ended up losing the big match, but Anna Jay may be able to get her first win on January 11.

That’s because the AEW star will team with Trish Adora, AZM, and Johnnie Robbie in a eight-woman elimination tag team match. They’ll be taking on Viva Van, Hanako, Maika, and the recent AEW Women’s World title challenger, Mina Shirakawa. This adds to a loaded card for New Japan Pro-Wrestling this Sunday.

While there isn’t much at stake other than pride, this should be able to help Jay gain some momentum after failing to win both the AEW Women’s World Championship and TBS Championship in 2024. The rising AEW star has been taking on more roles in Japan since 2024 in STARDOM. This all comes down to Jay wanting to get better as a performer as she feels that talents like Toni Storm and Mariah May saw a major improvement since working in places like STARDOM. She’ll definitely benefit from working with talents like Mina Shirakawa and Hanako.

The elimination eight-woman tag team match adds to a huge card that’s scheduled to be headlined with Gabe Kidd putting the NJPW Strong Openweight Title on the line against veteran Tomohiro Ishii. IWGP Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr, NEVER Openweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado, and NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions West Coast Wrecking Crew (Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs) will also be competing on the January 11 card.

Check out the updated line-up below:

  • NJPW Strong Openweight Championship: Gabe Kidd (c) vs. Tomohiro Ishii
  • Sumie Sakai, EVIL, & SHO vs. Hiromu Takahashi, Mayu Iwatani, & Yuka Sakazaki

  • NJPW World TV Championship: El Phantasmo (c) vs. Jeff Cobb

  • Elimination Match: Anna Jay, Trish Adora, AZM, & Johnnie Robbie vs. Viva Van, Hanako, Maika, & Mina Shirakawa
