One of the main staples of AAA Lucha Libre is reportedly gone from the promotion.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dr. Wagner Jr. has parted ways from AAA Lucha Libre. There’s no reasoning why he decided to leave the company; however, Jr. will continue wrestling on the independent scene at the moment.

The report states that the former AAA Mega Champion didn’t leave the promotion on bad terms and that its expected for him to make a return down the road someday. Wagner Jr. has worked on and off with AAA since 2009.

The veteran has had numerous classic matches and was a prominent star within the company, as the 54-year-old main evented the last three TripleMania shows. In addition to winning the AAA Mega Championship, Wagner Jr. has also held the AAA Latin American Championship.
