Are two-thirds of the Dynasty reforming?
MJF has been quite busy as of late. First, the AEW star has to deal with Mark Briscoe. But before the former AEW World Champion battles Mark in a thumbtacks and tables match, MJF has to finish off his long standing rivalry with Mistico.
It all started in an AEW ring and traveled to CMLL and MLW. MJF beat Averno on the August 1, 2025, edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular in Arena Mexico for the World Light Heavyweight Championship. It was confirmed that MJF would defend his light heavyweight title against Mistico at the Anniversary show on September 19.
But before that confirmation, MJF did one of his sneak attacks in MLW back in June during the Summer of the Beasts show. However, that wasn’t the only noteworthy thing that MJF did that night.
MJF met up with his former Dynasty member, Alex Hammerstone. It was a rather wholesome reunion where Hammerstone and MJF seemed like old bros.
But that wouldn’t be the end of their reunion.
MJF actually returned at the recent Fightland show. Mistico wasn’t around so there wasn’t anyone to attack, but he did catch up with the former MLW World Heavyweight Champion, who was taking a deep and hard look at his career thus far.
Hammerstone questioned whether his best days were behind him. But MJF encouraged him by saying that he saw the hatred in Hammerstone’s eyes, which is something the wrestling world needs. Hammerstone agreed with MJF.
To recall, The Dynasty was formed with Richard Holliday and MJF on March 16, 2019. The trio dominated the MLW locker room for three years, well at least Hammerstone and Holliday. MJF departed MLW and The Dynasty in January 2020. Gino Medina joined the faction, but they officially disbanded when Holliday and his girlfriend Alicia Atout attacked Hammerstone after some tension was building between the two in recent weeks.
Despite all of the recent appearances for MLW, it doesn’t seem as if he’ll wrestle for the promotion again anytime soon. The purpose seemed to give Hammerstone more of an edge, or possibly turn him heel. Who knows, maybe someday we’ll get a full Dynasty reunion.
