Odyssey Jones and XYON (aka Xyon Quinn) are the new AJPW World Tag Team Champions!

The former WWE stars challenged Hideki Suzuki and Kengo Mashimo for the belts at All Japan Pro Wrestling’s show in Tachikawa, Japan and won the titles within 18 minutes. It effectively put an end to Suzuki and Mashimo’s 51-day title run.

Jones is mostly notable for his brief run on the main roster as a temporary member of the New Day. The 31-year-old was with the company since 2019 and in the last few years, it didn’t seem as if WWE understood what to do with the New York native. They finally seem to figure that out in August 2024 and there were reports that Jones was originally set to become a permanent member of the New Day until abuse allegations forced WWE to pull him off television in September 2024.

Jones was never seen on WWE television again. It’s not clear when he was fired, but WWE did release him quietly. Since then, Jones has been fighting those harmful allegations and is currently in the middle of a defamation lawsuit against his ex-girlfriend.

Quinn was signed to WWE in 2018. He was a relative newcomer to the business and had been in the developmental system for two years. His big run was when he feuded with Santos Escobar. But Quinn didn’t do much of significance as he was essentially a jobber to the stars. He was drafted in 2020 and had one match on RAW and Smackdown. Quinn lost both matches. He was released in April 2024.

In 2025, Quinn became a mainstay for All Japan Pro Wrestling. He has competed in TNA Wrestling and ASWA in the past. So has Odyssey. Though he’s also competed in GCW and ALW. This is Jones' first title in professional wrestling. This is also XYON's first championship in his wrestling career. Congratulations to Odyssey Jones and XYON. The duo has been working together for quite a while and it's great that they're getting better between the ropes. These guys are still relatively young so if they make some noise on the independent scene then it wouldn’t be a surprise if WWE came back calling for their return.
